About the Cycling Around The World Website
All information on Cycling Around The World is based on bike trips we made since 1987. Contributions however from other cyclists, are very welcome and will be added to our site.
Cycling Around The World is 100% non-commercial, so you cannot book hotels or bike trips here. We do show some ads from the Google Adsense network to cover the costs of hosting the website.
Every now and then we receive requests to send brochures, and even somebody asked us to book a hotel room at the Grand Canyon! One visitor wanted to order butterflies from the Ecuadorian jungle! There was somebody who asked advice on any form of repellent or device to keep kangaroos away from his yard. And what about the request to translate a letter from English into Thai and Malaysian?
The site started in June 1997 and was 100% in Dutch. We still offer some pages in Dutch but most information nowadays is only in English. At this moment about 300 – 400 people visit Cycling Around The World every day.
About the authors
Cycling Around the World was made and is maintained by Paul van Roekel and Anja de Graaf, who live in the Netherlands. We are two cycling enthusiasts who once did a two year around half-the-world trip and are still leaving Holland every year to bike around a far away destination.

About the photos on this site
As of 2005 ( our trip to Kenya )all pictures on this website were shot with digital cameras. The Canon 350D SLR and the more compact Canon Powershot A85.
