Traffic in Kathmandu

A great city to visit. It was our first city outside Europe. We suffered a culture-shock to first few days; we never had been in a 3rd world country. Getting around on your bike in no problem in Kathmandu. And of course a bike is perfect for navigating through the narrow streets of the old city. Once outside Kathmandu the traffic becomes less. We cycled to Pokhara and mostly met busses and trucks on the narrow mountain road. There are enough places to stay in the villages you pass trough. We stayed in tea-houses and small hotels. Do no expect any luxury though!
