World Tour eXperience by bicycle – Climbing Uluru (Ayers Rock)
Ayers Rock is a must see for all Australia visitors. Even for cyclists it ‘easily’ be reached by good paved roads. We came all the way from Alice Springs. It took us 4, 5 days to cover the 450 km’s. Spending the night at roadhouses and once camping wild just off the main road. Water is not really a problem on this route. Supplies can be bought every 100 km’s or so. Watch out for the fast tourbusses that come daily from Alice Springs. Climbing the rock is not a real mountaineering effort, although a couple of people died while climbing. The views up there are great though.
